MASTER AIR BUS heaters to keep workers warm at the new Michelin factory building site in China

120 units of Master AIR BUS heaters have been sold to the contractor leading the construction of a new Michelin factory in China. The world-famous tire manufacturer intends to start its new production lines in China by 2015.

Nearly 24,000 kW of total heat

Michelin China is headquartered in Shanghai, and boasts seven subsidiaries in other major cities in China: Beijing, Shanghai, Shenyang, Guangzhou, Xi 'an and Chengdu. There are also four production centers: three in Shanghai and one in Shenyang, with a total of over 6,700 employees.

Master AIR BUS heaters are being used during the construction of the factory in Shenyang. Michelin plans to invest 1.5 billion USD in a production hall with an area of 750,000 square meters. Production at the plant is planned to start in 2015 with a capacity of 10 million car tires and 2 million truck tires.

Installation work inside the hall is much more difficult because of low winter temperatures. With such a vast amount of production equipment and production lines, the preparation period is very long. Therefore, it was decided to use mobile space heaters to provide heating in the workshops for engineers setting up the production facility. A total of 84 BV 690 oil heaters and 36 BV 470 are in use, all with axial fans. They give off almost 79,513,248 Btu/h! The majority of the devices are connected to flexible hoses to help bring warm air to the right place.

Doubtlessly, the number of devices used to heat just one factory shows the huge size of Michelin's new venture. It is a source of pride for MCS Group that its products were up to such a task.
